New Drip Coffee: Valle Inca
Our new drip coffee comes from a southern Peruvian coffee farm (specifically from the city of Cusco where a small group of Valle Incan coffee farmers live and work) with notes of milk chocolate, almond and toffee! These flavors are a bit brighter than some coffees because it was harvested through the washed process. When coffee farmers use the washed process, they are separating the fruit from the seed directly after picking, then moving it to being washed and dried. This causes it to take in more of the seed’s flavor than the fruit, which results in a brighter, more acidic base flavor for the coffee.
This specific coffee bean is also grown at an altitude between 1,600-2,000 meters, which makes a big difference in the taste of the coffee. When coffee beans are grown at a higher altitude with cooler temperatures the bean grows a lot slower and allows for a more intent focus on producing stronger flavors.
Here at Filament, we are big fans of a classic drip coffee with room for cream and sugar!
